With its trademark rhyming subject lines, Twotone's reader-supported newsletter has been a valuable gateway to the most interesting aspects of the bike world, a source for new & compelling ideas, and a trusted community resource for more than 1,200 readers worldwide since 2015. Thank you for being part of it!

Way back in 2005, I was just getting into track bikes in Atlanta, Georgia. I was a freshman at Georgia State University & had a Dawes Galaxy fixed-gear conversion. Now that I write about the era, not only was riding fixed new, riding in the city was new, the music scene was new, my work as a waiter at a local brunch spot called The Flying Biscuit was new, and even my apartment was new. Most rides included new parts of the city to explore. The fall of 2005 was a calvacade of newness.

I certainly did not have a smartphone. Years later, I'd have a Blackberry and no iPhone for another 5 years or so. Honestly, I don't even remember how I found my way around, lol. It's crazy!

It was via the urban cycling scene and crew in Atlanta named Faster Mustache that I met my friend Craig Durkin. (I checked and I've referenced him in the newsletter before – back in 2016!)

Craig founded an app you may have heard of, Wandrer.Earth. It's beautiful to me that someone I knew from way back when, getting lost was somehow a way of life, and now, such a rarity, has not only created an app expressly intended to help you find roads you've never ridden, but that Twotone now has the opportunity to tell more people about it. Just the idea of helping more people go where they've never been makes me grin. (Did you know you can find roads on Wandrer where NO ONE has ever ridden? THAT is crazy!)

We kicked off with Wandrer last week & you'll find the announcement below. If you've never used the app before, you're in for a treat! Let me know where you go!

Thank you for reading and supporting this newsletter!

wishing you a great week ahead & I hope to see you Friday at our office for our 16th Dox Under The Tracks!

For over 30 years, Stichting Spelen op de Brink in Deventer has been running a brilliant cargo bike-powered initiative. Volunteers bring children’s bikes, trikes, games and wooden toys directly onto the city’s historic Brink market square – all hauled by a fleet of vintage cargo trikes. Once unloaded, children take over the square as the space is transformed into a safe, car-free play sanctuary. It’s a textbook example of how cargo bikes (or in this case, trikes) can facilitate community events and activate public spaces without needing heavy motor vehicles. Swapfiets Closer to Breaking Even After 11 Years

#retail #ecommerce #winkelstraat #online #platformen #duurzaamondernemen #ingsectorbanking #dirkinzichtenretailtrade #linkedin | Dirk Mulder
Sinds 2019 is familiebedrijf Pon eigenaar. Over its roughly 11 to 12 years of existence (founded in late 2014), more than €140 million has been invested in Swapfiets. Pon invested €20m in 2025 alone. This company & its business model continue to astound me! More on Dirk Mulder's LinkedIn.

Cycling isn't just a pleasant alternative way to get around anymore - it has become a critical environmental policy with huge national energy implications.

Cycling for Environmental Policy and Energy Savings | Walter Brown posted on the topic | LinkedIn
Cycling isn’t just a pleasant alternative way to get around anymore - it has become critical environmental policy with huge national energy implications. The Netherlands alone now saves over 350 Billion gallons of gas per year with its cycling mode share of 27%. In some cities like Amsterdam and Utrecht, the mode share with bikes is closer to 45%. And even more remarkable is the estimated $22 billion in annual health care, environmental, and infrastructure savings now enjoyed by this small nation. If the entire world were as conservative we would reduce carbon emissions by 700 million tons per year.

Skloss Releases Single 'The Pattern Speaks (David Jack Remix)' of forthcoming remix Album Dialects

This collaborative album has been brewing in the cauldron for some time and Karen & Sandy are proud to share The Pattern Speaks, remixed, reworked, and cosmically reimagined by an ecosystem of old music pals, fellow artists, old bmx pals and big tinkerers from Scotland to Texas and Sweden and back to California. The Patterns Speak, the shapes shift, the tones bend, stripped down to dialects and conversations in ways Karen and I could never have imagined.
