Nº6 – Cycling, Startups & Sales

In:

Still recovering from #eurobike, I started penning this week's update on the night train back home this morning. This was my third time at the show and easily the most effective, exciting and rewarding one to date! If you haven't made it out to Friedrichshafen before, do it. If even, just for the beautiful riding there! Here's what caught my eye this past week:

Cycling

Biggest highlight this week was Eurobike. I was 90% booked during the show doing PR for Wahoo Fitness, Zwift, Pure Fix & Recon. I also had a number of meetings with exhibitors re: opportunities for http://ignitiondg.com as well as several catch-ups about a new projects for the fall and 2016. Oh, and riding bikes...

Despite the crammed agenda, I still made time join Rapha's evening rides + Vpace's on Friday. I shared my highlights on instagram. Great photos & analytics from the entire show can be found here: http://eventhashtag.com/eurobike

Bending the bike category a bit here ; ) But this review by professional photographer Camille McMillan about covering one of the most grueling endurance events in the world is too good not to share!

Save your Last.fm loved tracks to a Spotify playlist

I started using last.fm in August 2009 and never stopped. Recently Spotify opened up their API & Last.fm launched a beta revamp. I think this integration is awesome & have been unearthing some really old tracks! MailChimp’s Most Popular Subject Line Emojis

I recently re-read & re-shared Mailchimp's piece re: subject lines from 2013: http://bit.ly/Subject-Line-Data–Choose-Your-Words-Wisely & came across this gem. (the map is amazing) I often use emoji in sales emails. What do you think? Pro or no?

How to Write a Compelling E-mail

Geoffrey James (remember him from my last issue?) puts out some good stuff. This PDF explains how to write a first-time e-mail to somebody you don’t know or don’t know very well, such as a potential customer, a potential employer, or a business contact who knows somebody you’d like to reach. #gold

Radness

Record your life as a series of GIFs

No question, GIFs are one of the raddest things about the internet. Now you can communicate as a GIF artist. Thank me later ; )
