This week's title was inspired by my 6th Border Bash experience the weekend before last. Kdo si počká, ten se dočká means 'all things come to those who wait'. A nice Czech reminder that patience is a virtue. I didn't push it with the recovery of my wrist and because it was able to heal, I was able to ride. I'm grateful!
This theme also means patience in getting fitness back on the bike after two surgeries in 6 months. I'll get my CX bike ready to race this fall and my track bike in order for the velodrome as well, and I will simply need to put the time in to see the return on the effort next spring.
As summer winds down, I'm certainly resisting the urge to rush things at work as people get back to the office after weeks away. I'm spacing follow-ups in weeks instead of days. Before we know it, winter will be here, with the holidays on the horizon. Several projects won't come together until 2025 but will be worth the wait.
In fact, with our 10-year anniversary on Nov. 29th coming quick, the merits of playing the long game have been a recurring theme. From long-standing business relationships, years of attending events or simply seeing the forest from the trees with passing trends. It pays to be patient.
Hell, you had to wait two weeks for this issue, and it's twice as nice! Have a great week ahead!
with appreciation,
Jon
