On the train to Utrecht, I read a post by my friend James Lalonde about how the best ideas show up when your mind is open and your pace is slower. It reminded me of my first tattoo, a light bulb with the text 'Open Eyes'. Even at a woefully impatient age of 18, I was keen to be receptive to the world around me.
As 2025 spills over into its second half, and despite relaxing summer holidays coming soon, the ever-present deadlines continue to loom. So I also took solace in Farnam Street's dose of Brain Food, saying that going slow in the moment means you go faster.

The week ahead, ironically, will be a tough one to take slowly, the Wheelrunner Wednesday AM Ride (6:30am) & Gregario Thursday AM Ride ( 7:30am) lead right into Gravaa's first Group Ride from their office in Eindhoven and Saturday is our 2nd time hosting the Cash Up BMX Mayhem Jam here Amsterdam and Sunday, we'll roll with the Cyclezirkus x Maurten Hangover Ride.
At least I know that ride won't be fast! ; )
